Raw Food Breakfast Green Smoothie

April 18th, 2009 by Casey
Here’s my old stand-by for a green breakfast smoothie. It jump-starts me more in the morning than any coffee or tea ever could. Feel free to play with the ingredients or look at the other JUICING RECIPES. 4 stalks of Kale (any kind works!) 3 large carrots 3 stalks of celery 1/2 Cucumber I put this all into my juicer and dilute the juice with water. I try to drink 1/2 liters of green juice after my morning program to get me up to 1 liter in the first hour of the day. TIP: Put 1 stalk of celery in first if you’re using a manual juicer. That way, you won’t waste the great deliciousness of the darker greens (kale!) with the first few drips. My manual juicer tends to lose about a tablespoon of juice at first, so I’d rather lose carrots of celery. Also, finish the juicing with something with a lot of water. That way, you ‘clean’ out the machine and get all the good green lovin’ out. Read more...

Sprouted Hard Wheat and Date Breakfast for Delicious Calories

April 18th, 2009 by Casey
Ingredients: 1 Cup of Hard Wheat Berries, Sprouted 6-8 Soaked Dates (Awesome natural fructose!) 1 Granny Smith Apple (or Honey Crisp if available) 2T Coconut, shredded Pinch of Nutmeg Throw everything into your VitaMix and process it on down. Add the nutmeg and or cinnamon to increase to the desired flavor. This is a very hardy breakfast, and I prefer it in the morning if I’m going to exercise after. If I’m biking in the morning, I’ll do one of these instead of a shake, so I get more carbs and calories. The coconut should sweeten things up enough, but you can always add a little agave nectar or honey. Read more...

Simply take 1 young coconut, chop the top off, and drink it! The pH of coconut is one of the closest things to the natural pH of the human body. While it’s a light meal with very few calories, it’s great for your body. This is a delicious way to increase your water intake daily. Read more...

Raw Food Breakfast Banana Smoothie with Hemp and Blueberries

April 18th, 2009 by Casey
In a blender, add: 1 Banana 2 Handfuls Blueberries 1 Cup Living Water – purified water without chlorine 2T Hemp Seeds (hulled) Throw everything together into your VitaMix or other blender and spin it around until the desired texture. I keep mine in for about 15 seconds. Here is another delicious breakfast. It’s minimal clean-up, and you don’t need to cut the banana up. Just peel it, stick it in the blender with everything else, and puree. Delicious raw food breakfast. You’re going to love it! Sometimes, I’ll add spurlina or liquid stevia to it for sweetness or more greens. It’s easy to add whatever you want. If you need a little more fat in your diet, try some organic nuts, nut butters, or nut mylks.Read more...

It really is one of those “miracle drugs.” Taking L-arginine without lactose helps to get it into the blood stream faster and more effectively. This means that brown rice flour protein or hemp protein is the best to use. **Soy protein has a lot of estrogen, and after daily use, can lead to an imbalance in men. Be careful, guys!
