Raw Food Chocolate Ice Cream
April 18th, 2009 by Casey
2 Cups of Frozen Berries (Strawberries, Bananas, Goji, Blueberries)
1 Tablespoon Agave Nectar (for sweetness)
1/4-1/3 Cup Apple Juice
3-5 Tablespoons Carob Powder
Hand mash everything together using a potato masher or a fork. I like mine chunky, so I don’t worry about getting all of the berries mashed.
Throw it back in the freezer and scoop out a little whenever your sweet tooth hits you.
** Remember – this is super healthy, so you’re not cheating if you delight in this delicious dessert. Have it anytime you want, and you’ll still be eating healthy.Read more...
Nut Butters for Raw Foodists
April 18th, 2009 by CaseySmear nut butters on anything you’d like! I love Almond Butter or Cashew Butter on apples and celery. It is so good for you, especially if the nut butter has flax and hemp in it, like www.naturallynutty.com has in all of hers.

April 18th, 2009 by Casey
Here’s my old stand-by for a green breakfast smoothie. It jump-starts me more in the morning than any coffee or tea ever could. Feel free to play with the ingredients or look at the other JUICING RECIPES.
4 stalks of Kale (any kind works!)
3 large carrots
3 stalks of celery
1/2 Cucumber
I put this all into my juicer and dilute the juice with water. I try to drink 1/2 liters of green juice after my morning program to get me up to 1 liter in the first hour of the day.
TIP:
Put 1 stalk of celery in first if you’re using a manual juicer. That way, you won’t waste the great deliciousness of the darker greens (kale!) with the first few drips. My manual juicer tends to lose about a tablespoon of juice at first, so I’d rather lose carrots of celery. Also, finish the juicing with something with a lot of water. That way, you ‘clean’ out the machine and get all the good green lovin’ out.

Sprouted Hard Wheat and Date Breakfast for Delicious Calories
April 18th, 2009 by Casey
Ingredients:
1 Cup of Hard Wheat Berries, Sprouted
6-8 Soaked Dates (Awesome natural fructose!)
1 Granny Smith Apple (or Honey Crisp if available)
2T Coconut, shredded
Pinch of Nutmeg
Throw everything into your VitaMix and process it on down. Add the nutmeg and or cinnamon to increase to the desired flavor.
This is a very hardy breakfast, and I prefer it in the morning if I’m going to exercise after. If I’m biking in the morning, I’ll do one of these instead of a shake, so I get more carbs and calories.
The coconut should sweeten things up enough, but you can always add a little agave nectar or honey.

Simple Raw Vegan Breakfast – Young Coconut Water
April 18th, 2009 by Casey
Simply take 1 young coconut, chop the top off, and drink it!
The pH of coconut is one of the closest things to the natural pH of the human body. Drinking coconut water regularly will keep your body alkaline, keeping the biological terrain strong and resistant to disease.
Try to drink 3-5 coconut’s a week for optimum health benefits. While it’s a light meal with very few calories, it’s great for your body. This is a delicious way to increase your water intake daily.
