Officially, successfully went through 7 days of the 80/10/10 raw food diet. This first 7 days was essentially a detox for me, bringing on headaches and some restless nights in bed. But &#8212; it was all for a great reason. Today, I went to a raw food potluck at Ellen Livingston&#8217;s home and enjoyed a ton of great dishes! My health is better than ever, I&#8217;ve lost over 4 pounds, and I&#8217;m sleeping like a baby at night. This is the way Nature intended me to live! <br /><br />

I don&#8217;t think there&#8217;s any way to find some that aren&#8217;t. Anyhow, I think I found the solution to my 3-day headache.<br /><br />

About 2 months ago, my girlfriend, Kristen, and I came back from a 4-month bicycle trip through Spain, France and Italy. My (our) plans to go raw and live that way in Europe was cut short when we realized that we hadn&#8217;t a clue on how to eat enough and have the energy to cycle.<br /><br />

When we flew out of the Rome airport and into Los Angeles, we were greeted by my brother, his wife and their 2 kids. It was a celebration to see them! We stayed 2 weeks before my folks arrived and drove us, minus our bikes, to Sedona. A week in Sedona, then another week with Kristen&#8217;s family in Chandler, we had a blast.<br /><br />

&#8230; but so did my waist line!<br /><br />

During the trip, I was cycling near 175lbs. When I came back to Michigan, I was up 20 pounds, to 195 &#8212; a number I haven&#8217;t been at since 2006!<br /><br />
<p style="text-align: center;">But Wait &#8212; There&#8217;s Great News!</p><br /><br />
<p style="text-align: left;">I moved into Ann Arbor, Michigan and have had a blast getting to know people in the area. So many wonderful people &#8212; I&#8217;m very lucky to have moved here!</p><br /><br />
<p style="text-align: left;">I was surfing online and found a raw food MeetUp hosted by Ellen Livingston. I read that she had a lecture about Grains in a nearby town and headed that way. After listening more and more, I really started to dig what she was saying. She demoed a VitaMix 5200 (the first time I&#8217;d seen one!), and answered some questions I&#8217;ve been having for a LONG time about raw foodism.</p><br /><br />
<p style="text-align: left;">She recommended Dr. Douglas Graham&#8217;s book &#8220;The 80/10/10 Diet&#8221;, which I read the week after.</p><br /><br />
<p style="text-align: left;">Then I ordered a VitaMix 5200.</p><br /><br />
<p style="text-align: left;">Then I signed up for her 30-day raw coaching program.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">My intention is to blog by writing or video every day starting Monday, March 15, 2010, until it&#8217;s over. I&#8217;m curious to see how adopting a 100% raw 80/10/10 diet will affect my body, including weight, strength and muscle, body odor, eczema, and a light condition that&#8217;s been bugging me for the last 10-or-so years, dystonia.</p><br /><br />
